A Lineup of Festive Events You Won’t Want to Miss!
The holiday season is upon us, and several local celebrations are just around the corner! Mark your calendars for a festive weekend starting with Atkinson’s Christmas Festival on Friday, December 6th, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM in downtown Atkinson. This event promises fun for everyone, featuring a visit from Santa, a soup and chili cook-off, an adult scavenger hunt, steaming cups of hot cocoa and apple cider, a Christmas movie, and games for the kids.
On Saturday, December 7th, the Village of Cambridge will host its Christmas on the Square from 4 PM to 6 PM. This celebration has something for everyone, from a delicious spaghetti dinner to a lively Santa parade, a cookie walk, and a lighted parade.
Sunday, December 8th, will see Windmont and Northeast Park in Kewanee adorned with beautiful lights as they kick off the Christmas season. Enjoy delicious food from local restaurants and find unique Christmas gifts in local shops.
Finally, don’t miss Geneseo’s annual Christmas Walk on Saturday, December 14th, from 8 AM to 8 PM, with main festivities kicking off at 5 PM. Experience the magic with a lighted parade, ice sculptures, living windows, Christmas shopping, trolley rides, a gingerbread house contest, and so much more!
To top it all off, Crossroads Cultural Connections is teaming up with Allenia Space and Crescent City Tap to present A Quad Cities Christmas Carol, an original play by local playwright Tom Akers that puts a fresh twist on Charles Dickens’ classic tale. This special performance will be held on Friday, December 20th, at Allenia Space in Galva.
