Children’s Storytelling and Puppetry Workshop Series

The Galva Arts Council is excited to introduce two new workshops for children ages 7-14 that can be taken individually or together as part of a series that culminates in a performance.
Workshop 1: Storytelling January 25th 1-3 pm. Storyteller and Educator Brian “Fox” Ellis will teach the fundamentals of performance storytelling using adaptations of Native American and European fairy tales.
Workshop 2: Puppet Making February 8th 12-3 pm. Children will create handmade puppets that go along with the storytelling workshop characters.
Rehearsal for the storytelling puppet show will be on February 15th from 1-4, and the children will perform during the Student Showcase Coffeehouse on the evening of February 22nd. The call time is 6 pm and the Student Showcase Coffeehouse is 7-9.
Cost: $8 for one workshop or $12 for the whole series. Please print and send the registration form, along with payment, to P.O. Box 29 Galva, Illinois 61434.
Registration forms will also be distributed at both Galva schools. Galva Elementary and Jr High Students may return the forms and payment to their school offices.
